Incredible essay, interesting topic and execution! It inspired me to finally dive in Jung's work and possibly gather the tools to make these kinds of connections and insights myself 🤞 If you could recommend some essays/books/articles to someone just starting to familiarize with Jungian psychology, what would they be?
Brilliant job analyzing Obsession under a Jungian lens 🧐 This was so good!! I think there was also something in there about fears and avoidance of vulnerability as well as authenticity as part of the process of Individuation. Rather than choose courage to be vulnerable and have real connection (not telling her his feelings or even when he lost his cat initially); Bear consistently chose to be inauthentic with her. Then he wanted the “relationship” without the work, it was the need for immediate gratitification. Collectively, this is putting a mirror on how people date and the on demand/instant gratification app culture as well as the animus wound of invulnerability. He should’ve used that tiger’s eye! Ugh Bear was so gross, he gave me the ick.
This article probably served as an antidote to the film.
This was incredibly insightful, Yepi!

Thanks so much for reading. I'm glad you found value in it!
I find these to be the best intro books: Boundaries of the Soul (June Singer), Man and His Symbols, and Memories Dreams Reflections
Owning Your Own Shadow by Robert A. Johnson is excellent for shadow work specifically
And in terms of essays, I'll set out a few of mine:
